Studio MuHe was founded by Weimin, a jewellery designer based in the Netherlands.

Her creative practice is deeply rooted in Dutch design education. She studied Jewellery – Linking Bodies at Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam, where she explored the relationship between jewellery, the body and personal identity. She later continued her studies in Contextual Design at Design Academy Eindhoven, developing a research-driven approach to storytelling, material exploration and design thinking.

Today, Studio MuHe brings these two worlds together—combining the emotional language of jewellery with thoughtful design, careful curation and a deep appreciation for naturally coloured freshwater pearls. Every collection reflects the same belief: jewellery should not simply decorate life, but become part of it.

The Meaning of MuHe

The name MuHe (目河) comes from Chinese, meaning Eyes and Rivers.

It was inspired by a poetic phrase that describes "rivers between eyes." To us, MuHe represents a quiet yet powerful way of seeing the world—with curiosity, patience and appreciation for beauty.

Rivers also hold a special meaning. Freshwater pearls are born in rivers, and their extraordinary colours became the beginning of Studio MuHe's story.

Pearls are unlike any other gemstone. Their colours are created by light reflecting through layers of nacre, meaning they naturally reveal different tones under different lighting conditions.

Because we know every pearl intimately, we carefully photograph each piece to represent its colours as faithfully as possible.
